TOURNAMENT GUIDE & RULES: |
|

Super VS
Battle will be spread across 2 days.
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of
January 2007. This is to accommodate
the 5 games that will be run throughout
this event. |
|
• |
A sign up page
for each game will go up. So players
can officially sign up to each
event. Players can sign up to as
many games as they want. |
|
• |
Players that
want to sign up MUST have an active
forum account. Also you must
register using the same email
address as your forum account. (You do not have to
post, but your account must be
activated) |
|
• |
Payment will
be accepted on the day for entrance
fee and tournament sign-up fee. |
|
• |
Players that
sign up for a tournament in Super VS
Battle must be at the venue before
that particular event starts. Any
player that turns up late may miss
their opportunity to participate in
the event. Any player that fails to
show up without giving us advanced
warning risks a possible
ban from future Neo Empire events.
No replacements will be used to fill
empty places in a tournament for any
reason. |
|
• |
No refunds
will be given... PERIOD. |
|
• |
15 minutes
before each tournament, all the
participants will be called out in
groups and told where they need to
go and play. |
|
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: |
|
• |
At the
start of the tournament, players are
divided into groups. The size of the
groups will depend on how many
players enter. It will be a fixed
amount for the tournaments that have
player limits on them. |
|
• |
In the group
stages, every player will play every
other player once. For Example, if
you are placed in a group of 8, you
will have 7 games, and so will
everyone else. Every point will be
decided by one match. |
|
• |
Once all the
groups are finished, the top 2 or 4
players (depending on how big the
groups are) will move to a single
elimination tournament. The single
elimination tournament will be the
final part of the event. |
| |
|
• |
For
the tournaments that do not
have a player limit, it is
possible that the tournament
may be cut up into 3 rounds
because of a larger number
of players. First will be
the traditional groups
round. |
|
• |
Once
the preliminary group stages
are finished, either the
best 2 or 3 players will be
taken out of each group and
put into another round of
groups to determine the top
2 or 4 players. |
|
• |
Once
the second stage of groups
has been completed, then all
the players will be put into
a 8 or 16 man single
elimination tournament. |
|
|
MATCH
PLAY: |
|
• |
When players
names/numbers are called out, they
must make their way over to the
Judge on that machine who will tell them which side they will be
sitting on for that particular match
up. 1p or 2p. |
|
• |
When players
names/numbers are called out, they
have 1 minute to get to their
position and play their match. If
they do not get there in time, then
they forfeit the match. (Judges will
not go looking for players) |
|
• |
Once in
position, it is down to the players
to make sure that their button
configuration is correct. We have no
problem allowing players to quickly
access the game so they can check
their configuration. If a match has
been officially started, then a
player learns that his/her
configuration is incorrect, then
they must A) continue playing
through the entire match with the
wrong configuration, or B) Forfeit a
round so they can fix this issue. |
|
• |
When selecting
characters, players have a set time
limit to do so. Most games come with
their own timer on the character
select screen. Players will have to
pick their characters in the set
amount of time. If not then they
will be forced to pick the character
that has automatically been chosen
by the time. If they still do not
want to proceed, that they will have
to forfeit the match. For games that
do not have a character select
screen timer, the judge will give 30
seconds to pick a character. After
this time you have to pick a
character. If you do not, then you
forfeit the match. |
|
• |
In a
match, a point is given when a
player has won the required amount
of rounds. Example - Street Fighter
III 3rd Strike matches are won when
one of the competitors wins 2
rounds. In Tekken 5, its when a
player wins 3 rounds. |
|
• |
In a finals
tournament match (final 8 or 16), a
win is given when a player wins 2
matches. Not rounds, but entire
matches. |
|
• |
While playing
in a best out of 3 match environment
(first to win 2), the player that
wins the last match is not allowed
to change their character or team
until they lose. (if they lose) |
|
• |
While playing
in a match, if a player hits the
pause button, then they
automatically forfeit the round. |
|
• |
Tie
Breakers (Inti's law) |
|
|
|
• |
If
there is a 2 way tie, the
result will be taken from
the match had by the 2
players in the group
stages. |
|
• |
If
there is a 3 way tie and 1
player needs to advance, all
3 players names will be put
into a container and one
will be picked at random by
the Judge of that group. The
player that is chosen sits
out while the other 2
participants play off. The
loser of that match is
eliminated and the winner
plays the remaining player.
The winner of that match
wins the tie break and goes
through to the next stage of
the tournament. |

Hyper Street Fighter World Warrior
RULE!!!!!
|
|
|
|
• |
In a match, if 2 players
insist
on picking the same World
Warrior character, then the
decision will be based on a
coin flip. Winner gets the
character of choice and
loser has to pick another
character and mode. |
|
|
EQUIPMENT: |
|
• |
Every
player must bring their own joypad/controller/joystick
to the Super VS Battle event. We
will not be supplying controllers
for any game tournament, unless we
state otherwise. |
|
• |
Players are
responsible for all the property
they bring to the event. If anything
breaks or gets lost, it is not our
responsibility. |
|
• |
If a players
controller breaks down during a
tournament, we can not issue them
with a replacement. Its down to the
players to bring back-up equipment. |
|
• |
If a players
controller breaks down during an
actual match, then they must tell
the judge immediately. The judge
will check the controller for faults
also. If a fault is detected by the
judge, then he/she can restart the
match again as long as the player
has a replacement controller. If
there is no replacement controller,
then the player forfeits the match. |
|
• |
If any of our
equipment fails or is faulty (TVs,
consoles etc) then you must alert a
judge immediately. |
|

|
|
|
• |

in a match, if a player hits the
pause button, then they

change it after a match has
been officially started,
then they must forfeit a
round in order to do so. |

|
EXTRA RULES: |
|
• |
Anyone
that refuses to play any match will
be disqualified from the entire
tournament. This includes quarter
finals, semi finals and Finals. |
|
• |
By
participating in a Neo Empire event
(tournament, casual or otherwise),
you agree to partake in promotional
activities that may include having
your photo taken. Any tournament
winner or runner-up that refuses to
have their picture taken, loses any
rights to titles and/or prizes. |
|
• |
If a
player decides to pull out of the
tournament for any reason, they will
not be replaced. |
|
• |
Button
binding is not allowed under any
circumstances. EXAMPLE: Having all 3
punches assigned to one button so
Zangief's Lariat is easier to
perform. This will not be allowed on
any game. |
|
• |
It is a
fundamental rule of participation in
all Neo Empire events that actions
which are, or are deemed to be,
collaborative, or indicative of
complicit or explicit collusion of
any form, may result in the direct
expulsion and/or exclusion of the
offender(s) from the event in
progress, and also of any such
subsequent events, as determined by
the tournament director.
For these purposes, "collusion" is
defined as: Knowingly or willingly
manipulating the outcome of any
particular game/contest, in order to
bring about a desired effect that
may be directly or indirectly
beneficial to yourself and/or to any
other parties present. An example of
such an act is deliberately losing a
fight in order to confer an
advantage upon another participant.
If action is taken by the management
as a result of individual(s) being
deemed to engage in the
aforementioned activities, the
management's decision will be
absolutely binding and final in this
matter. No further correspondence
may be entered into, unless at the
direct discretion of the tournament
director.
Participants should also be aware
that any activities falling under
this definition will result in a
direct forfeit of eligibility for
any awards and/or prizes due. This
rule exists in order to protect the
integrity and fairness of Neo Empire
events. Your co-operation in this
matter is greatly appreciated. If
you are in any doubt regarding this
rule, please speak directly with the
management before entering a
tournament, to ensure you fully
understand what is required of you. |
These
rules exist in order to protect the
integrity and fairness of Neo Empire events.
Please note that in exceptional
circumstances, the tournament rules may be
subject to change at short notice. In the
event of such a change, the tournament
director and/or management will make every
effort to make participants aware of this
fact as soon as possible. We also reserve
the right to eject any participant who, in
our opinion, is detrimental to, and/or is
having a negative impact on the event. The
management's decision on all matters is
absolute and binding. |
