ABOUT:
>>SUPER VS BATTLE<<
The United Kingdom has always had some great
talent when it comes to vs fighting games.
But never had a stage of its own to showcase
UK players ability. Super VS Battle is here
to give players the opportunity to prove
themselves against other top players here in
the UK. Even though this event is based in
the UK, we still welcome international
players to enter and compete in Super VS
Battle.
>>HISTORY<<
In 1998, the United Kingdom had a super
strong player base and a fantastic London
based arcade
called Namco Wonderpark. Between early 96 to
its closure in early 1999, they supplied a
fantastic service to all hardcore fighting
game fans. Great cabinets, Japanese sticks,
the latest games and a very friendly
staffing team that were highly competent.
Machines were always maintained and staff
were always happy to put the machines on
tournament settings when events took place.
Namco Wonderpark had become the main arcade
in the UK and it was respected by all the
players.
After its closure, the UK fighting games
scene almost came to a complete halt. 85% of
the players disappeared and most of the
other players had to look for alternative
arcades that were not as good, did not cater
for their needs, or generally did not care.
In the year 2001, it seemed to pick up
again. Other organisations came in to clean
up and put the UK back on the map. The scene
had some highs and lows between that time
and mid 2004. After this time, the scene
just stopped moving. Arcades that were once
full at evenings and on weekends were
literally empty on Fridays, which at one
point was the busiest day for arcades year
in, year out.
>>PRESENT<<
The original founders of Neo Empire, Bullet
Proof, Shin Dragon and Sho Dragon, got
together in late 2004 to discuss the best
method to put the UK scene back together
again and came up with Neo Empire. A website
dedicated to the UK fighting games
community. Now in the year 2006, the UK
community is fighting back and producing
players again after all these years of
inactivity.
>>NEO EMPIRE<<
Neo Empire was born in January 2005 and
since that time it has done its best to
support the UK fighting games community. The
main objective has always been to create a
place where fighting game fanatics can meet
up and talk to other like-minded people from
across the United Kingdom and beyond.
Regardless if you like Guilty Gear,
King of Fighters, Virtua Fighter,
Street Fighter or Tekken, we
all generally share the same passion for
competitive gaming as one another. Its all
about finding other players to challenge and
pushing your experience to the next level. |
